Genevieve Atkinson is a fictional character on The Young and the Restless, portrayed by General Hospital veteran, Genie Francis. She is the wife of Colin Atkinson and the mother of Cane Ashby, Caleb Atkinson and Samantha Atkinson.
Genevieve was mentioned as early as 2006 as a woman named "Violet Montgomery" who was supposedly the real mother of Cane Ashby, after the revelation that Jill Foster Abbott was not. Originally it was believed that Katherine Chancellor stole away Jill's son in 1975 and gave it to Violet. However, that was later disproved. She ended up living in Australia, under the name of "Genevieve" where she married Colin Atkinson. It was later revealed that before she was with Colin, she had had a relationship with Tucker McCall.
Genevieve returns to Genoa City in 2011 looking for revenge for Cane's death (although she revealed the truth about Cane on Tuesday May 31, 2011 that it was Cane's twin brother, Caleb, who was killed on the church steps, not Cane himself). Genevieve's plan to get revenge on Colin came together as she finally came to face to face with him and confronted him leading her to knock him over the balcony of her mansion as he held on until Jill showed to help him only for her to let him slip after Genevieve revealed Colin to be her husband. Genevieve later had an awkward meeting with Cane's wife Lily Winters, who wasn't happy to meet her after discovering Cane's lies. After having gotten her revenge on Colin, who was hospitalized and set to be later jailed when he recovers. Genevieve set her sights on Jack Abbott, but she didn't reveal her name.
